Deleting Your Organization

In plain English​

When you delete your Qpher organization:

  • For the first 30 days, you can change your mind and restore it.
  • During those 30 days, all members lose access to shared documents and organization-scoped API keys.
  • Your subscription is set to cancel at the end of your current billing period — no new charges happen after that.
  • Transferring ownership to another person is not currently supported; deleting is the only owner-level lifecycle action today.

Who can delete​

Only the organization owner can delete the organization. Deletion is performed from the User Portal at Settings → Organization → Danger Zone and is gated by:

  • Step-up multi-factor authentication (re-verification of your MFA factor), and
  • Typed name confirmation (you must type the organization name exactly).

Administrators and members cannot delete the organization.

During the 30-day grace​

  • The organization is non-functional for all members — shared documents and organization-scoped API keys are inaccessible.
  • Individual member accounts remain intact. A member's personal vault account (if they have one outside the organization) is unaffected and continues to work normally.
  • The organization is fully recoverable by the owner at any point during the grace window.

Billing during the grace​

Your subscription is scheduled to cancel at the end of your current billing period. If the current billing period ends during the grace window, the subscription terminates and no further charges occur. If you restore before the billing period ends, your subscription resumes. If you restore after the billing period has ended, you may re-subscribe from Settings → Billing at any time.

No prorated refund is issued for the current period upon deletion. Your existing 7-day refund right in the Refund Policy is unaffected.

How to restore​

During the grace window, the User Portal shows a "Restore Organization" banner on the Settings page. Tap Restore to reactivate the organization immediately; member access and organization-scoped API keys are re-enabled.

If the current billing period has already ended (so the subscription terminated), the banner prompts you to re-subscribe as part of the restore — your organization data is recovered, and billing resumes on the new subscription.

After 30 days​

The organization is permanently removed from Qpher's active systems. Shared documents, organization-scoped API keys, and organization membership records are deleted. Backup copies are purged within a further 14 days per our Privacy Policy §7.

After this point, restoration is not possible.

Ownership transfer not supported​

Organization ownership transfer to another user is not currently supported. If you wish to leave your role while preserving the organization, email support@qpher.ai for assisted manual transfer. Self-service owner transfer is tracked as a future feature.

Right to accelerated deletion​

You may request deletion faster than 30 days:

  • EEA residents: GDPR Article 17
  • UK residents: UK-GDPR Article 17
  • California residents: CCPA §1798.105
  • Other jurisdictions: see Privacy Policy §7.3

Email privacy@qpher.ai with your organization name and account email and an explicit request for accelerated deletion. We verify and process within 30 calendar days.
